January and February Fabulousness!!!

We started off our new semester celebrating the season with winter crafts, stories of snow and ice, and bottles of melted snowmen. We had a great winter break, but it felt nice being back at school sharing our daily routines with our friends once again.

  In February, it was our privilege to have one of our students and his parents share their Chinese New Year celebration with us. Our friend came dressed in traditional Chinese attire. His parents spoke to our classes and showed us pictures and objects reflecting Chinese culture including a paper lantern, a kimono, a scroll written with Chinese characters, and some jade. Before leaving, they treated each of us to a rice cake, a traditional New Year “red envelope”, and a Chinese Zodiac Calendar.
