In November, our students participated in two special community events. Darton’s International Festival and a food drive for the Lily Pad. Darton’s International Department paid us a visit in mid-November to bring their International Festival celebration to our classrooms. They provided our students with a wonderful introduction to the variety of cultures that exist throughout the world.
Our children had an amazing morning of learning and fun. We enjoyed dances and stories, practiced writing oriental characters, snacked on plantain chips, and closed our celebration with the breaking of a piñata. We were thrilled that some of our children dressed in clothes representing the national heritage of their families.
